Haitong International’s Jeff Pu, a well-regarded source for Apple-related information, is back with fresh insights in a new research note today, focusing on the upcoming iPhone 17 series, expected to launch in September next year.

iPhone 17 Series

Let’s begin with the anticipated new addition to the lineup, the iPhone 17 Slim (or possibly iPhone 17 Air, should Apple adopt a naming convention similar to its iPad line). This model has been ‘confirmed’ (in as much as unofficial details can be) to feature the A19 chip, not the A19 Pro seen in the Pro models, and will come equipped with 8GB of RAM, enabling robust Apple Intelligence integration.

The iPhone 17 Slim will sport a single 48MP rear camera and a 24MP front camera. Other expected features include Face ID, an aluminum frame, and a 6.6-inch display. Pu mentions that this model will feature an entirely new design and will replace the iPhone Plus variant.

Moving on to the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, both models will retain the same screen sizes as their predecessors. They’ll be powered by the A19 Pro chip, come with 12GB of RAM, and feature a 48MP telephoto camera along with the 24MP front camera. The Pro Max will also introduce a narrower Dynamic Island, enabled by a revamped Face ID system.
