Introduction
The Google Pixel 9 Pro is the latest addition to this year’s lineup, following the Pixel 8 Pro. Positioned alongside the new Pixel 9 Pro XL, the Pixel 9 Pro offers a compact, feature-rich flagship experience that includes all the premium elements of its larger sibling.
While a compact Pixel isn’t a new idea, this is the first time Google has fully optimized this form factor with high-end features. The Pixel 9 Pro boasts a 48MP periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, identical to that of the Pixel 9 Pro XL. Additionally, it includes Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology. It’s impressive that Google managed to integrate so much advanced hardware into a device that maintains the same footprint as the standard Pixel 9.

Display and Unboxing Experience of the Google Pixel 9 Pro
Google has made notable enhancements to the display of the Pixel 9 Pro. It features a slightly larger screen than the Pixel 8, with an upgraded resolution of 1280 x 2856 pixels. The maximum brightness has also been improved, and the incorporation of LTPO technology allows for dynamic refresh rate adjustments.
The Pixel 9 Pro includes a 42MP selfie camera, matching the Pixel 9 Pro XL and providing a significant upgrade from the 10.5MP selfie camera found on the standard Pixel 9.
Unboxing
This year’s Pixel devices come in eco-friendly recycled cardboard packaging, devoid of plastic, even inside. The sturdy box includes a cradle that securely holds the phone during transit. However, the retail package is minimal in terms of accessories; it only includes a Type-C to Type-C cable.
The Pixel 9 Pro supports a maximum charging rate of 27W through standard Power Delivery (PD), which is convenient as it allows users to easily find a compatible charger. Nevertheless, it would have been appreciated if a charger had been included in the box.
