Apple has been expanding its health and wellness offerings through the Apple Watch and other devices. According to a Bloomberg report, the company is developing a new app aimed at prediabetics.
Following features like ECG monitoring, irregular heart rhythm detection, and sleep apnea tracking, Apple is now exploring a non-invasive method for tracking blood glucose levels. The company has reportedly tested sensors that can monitor glucose without the need for needles and has conducted internal trials of the app.
The app, targeted at individuals diagnosed with prediabetes and at risk for Type 2 diabetes, will not only provide continuous glucose tracking but also allow users to log their food intake. Based on this data, it will suggest meals to help stabilize blood glucose levels and prevent spikes.
