“Samsung Galaxy A36 Renders Reveal New Back Design and Sleeker Profile”

Share:

Samsung is set to refresh its design language with the upcoming launch of the Galaxy A36 (and likely the A56). New 3D renders, shared by Giznext and OnLeaks, reveal a shift in the phone’s look.

One of the most notable changes is the repositioning of the rear cameras. Instead of the three separate lenses seen on the Galaxy A35, they’ll now be grouped together in a vertical camera island, reminiscent of the design seen on the Galaxy A30s from a few years ago.

While the Galaxy A36 will feature a fresh rear design, it retains some familiar elements from the current A-series, such as the Key Island, which houses the power and volume buttons. The A36 will be slightly narrower than its predecessor, the A35, measuring 77.9mm wide (compared to 78.0mm). With the Key Island included, the width increases to 78.4mm. The new model will also be taller at 162.6mm (compared to 161.7mm).

One of the key upgrades is the display size. The Galaxy A36 will feature a 6.64-inch screen, slightly larger than the A35’s 6.60-inch display. The device will also be slimmer, with a thickness of 7.4mm (down from 8.2mm), though it will reach 9.6mm at the camera bump. There’s still no information on the battery capacity.

Recently, the Galaxy A36 (SM-A366B) appeared on Geekbench running Android 15. While the exact chipset hasn’t been confirmed, it’s likely either the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 or the 7s Gen 2. This shift marks a change in suppliers for the A3x series, which previously used the Dimensity 1080 in the A34 and the Exynos 1380 in the A35.

The display will be a flat panel with a centered punch-hole for the selfie camera and slightly asymmetrical bezels. In terms of design, the A36 will look quite similar to its predecessor from the front. The fingerprint sensor will be embedded in the display, as there’s no side-mounted reader.

The Galaxy A56 also leaked recently, featuring a new Exynos 1580 chipset with AMD RDNA graphics. Don’t get too excited, though—while leaks are surfacing, we’ll likely have to wait a few more months before the A36 and A56 are officially unveiled. The A35 and A55 launched in mid-March, so we can expect the same timeframe for the new models.
