Open Chrome and Navigate to the Website:

Go to the website that you want to create a shortcut for.

Access the Chrome Menu:

Click on the three dots (menu icon) at the top-right corner of Chrome to open the Chrome menu.

Create Shortcut:

  • Hover over More tools in the menu.
  • Select Create shortcut  from the submenu that appears.

Customize Shortcut:

  • A small pop-up window will appear.
  • Optionally, you can change the name of the shortcut if you want.
  • Make sure the “Open as window” option is checked if you prefer the shortcut to open in its own window rather than a regular tab.

Add to Shelf:

  • Check the box that says Create or Add to shelf (the wording may vary slightly depending on your Chrome version).
  • Click Create or Add to confirm.

Shortcut Added:

  • You should now see the shortcut appear on your shelf (taskbar) at the bottom of your screen (on Windows/Linux) or in the dock (on macOS).

Access the Shortcut:

  • You can now click on this shortcut in your shelf/dock to open the website directly in Chrome.
